High-Volume Water and Slurry Pumps
We utilize specialized designs, versatile mounting options, and adaptable power supplies to excel in various environments. Here are some of our standard pump designs, each offering customizable solutions to meet diverse discharge rates and sizes:
Agriculture PTO Trailer Pumps
Our mobile PTO trailer pump delivers high volumes and is an ideal choice for furrow-irrigated pipe and ditch systems. It also efficiently dewaters and drains flooded fields. Our standard PTO trailer pumps feature solid steel fabrication for freshwater operations, with options for stainless steel construction for brackish and saltwater applications.
PTO Ditch Pumps
This PTO Pump offers quick and easy hookup and release, featuring wide steel feet for enhanced stability on submerged river or lake bottoms. It comes equipped with a screened intake, 1:1 ratio gearbox, and a cam lock fitting on the discharge for extended operations. Designed to effortlessly raise and lower the pump using a three-point hydraulic tractor connection.
Slurry/Sludge Pumps
Our slurry pump effectively moves heavy slurries and large solids, including those containing sand and gravel. The discharge pipe includes a slurry gate that creates an agitation effect for thorough mixing of sediment. The slurry gate is operated by a hydraulic actuator lever at the PTO connection point. Our Slurry Pumps come in customizable lengths and discharge sizes for applications such as:
- Livestock Manure Pit Pumping
- Mine and Quarry Slurry Management
- Environmental Cleanup
- Oilfield Mud Pumping
Vertical Pumps
Our vertical pumps can be powered by an electric motor with belt and sheave speed reduction, a stationary engine, a PTO (power take off shaft), or a portable power supply.
Vertical and float-mounted water pumps are essential solutions for a broad range of water transfer applications. In scenarios where a drain sump exists, vertical pumps equipped with electric-motor with panels or fixed-diesel-engine drives can be easily installed and serviced. Similarly, ponds or pits with varied bottom contours may require float-mounted vertical pumps, which can be adjusted to drain multiple locations or maintain desired water levels. Our Lemmons Pump Company, LLC vertical and float-mounted water pumps are easily transportable and widely utilized across numerous industries, from storm flood protection to mining and agriculture.

Floating Vertical Pumps
We can easily mount pumps onto floating units, allowing them to adapt to changing water levels. Floating pumps are highly effective for flooding and storm water surge dewatering, as well as for pit mining and slurry operations. Our vertical and floating water pumps deliver efficient solutions for moving water from various locations, making them indispensable for industries like mining, power generation, storm surge protection, wastewater transfer, and irrigation. These pumps are easily transportable and fit comfortably into small working areas in lakes, rivers, and other water bodies. Key advantages and capabilities include:
- Space-Saving: Vertical pumps are ideal in environments where traditional horizontal pumps would occupy valuable space, making them suitable for limited water openings.
- Easy Operation: Vertical centrifugal pumps always remain submerged, eliminating the need for priming. This feature enhances their desirability for floating applications as well.

Storm and Flood Pumps
In areas where natural drainage is insufficient to remove water, storm and flood pumps become essential. These pumps play a vital role in cleanup efforts across various locations, including cities, coastlines, and municipalities, where natural water runoff is slow or challenging. These pumps are critical components for many flood defense strategies, effectively and efficiently removing water in various settings. They represent key infrastructure investments, streamlining decisions related to pump station design, construction, and maintenance. Proactively managing floodwater accumulation is key to limiting extensive water damage. Locations near large bodies of water prone to overflow frequently utilize these pumps to anticipate and mitigate potential flooding. Additionally, flatland areas may deploy storm and flood pumps at low-lying points where natural drainage is inadequate. Floodwater pumps are also equipped with screens to handle some fibrous and solid materials that may accompany floodwater. We have a reliable storm water pump solution to minimize downtime.
Understanding Storm and Flood Pumps
Storm and flood pumps are critical components of many flood defense strategies, effectively and efficiently removing water in various settings. They represent key infrastructure investments, streamlining decisions related to pump station design, construction, and maintenance. These pump systems safeguard areas from floodwater damage by moving large volumes of water before, during, and after storm events.
Floodwater pumps are also equipped to handle some fibrous and solid materials that may accompany floodwater.
For instance, floodwaters can carry branches, leaves, trash, weeds, dirt, and sediments like mud, silt, soil, and sand, which can clog or damage pump impellers and bearings. A reliable storm and flood pump solution minimizes downtime and prevents debris-related issues. Some submersible storm and flood pumps employ a submersible motor for operation. Ideally, these pumps feature non-clog impellers and protected power drives, providing high efficiency while reducing lifecycle costs.
Reasons for Using Storm and Flood Pumps
Applications use storm and flood pumps for several reasons. Locations may require them due to the presence of:
- Sewage Pipes and Filtration Plants
- Rising Groundwater in Communities and Industrial Facilities
- Excessive Rainfall and Tidal Surge
- Impermeable Wet Ground with No Absorption Capacity
- Concrete Surfaces and Culverts Along Highways and Underpasses
Our Storm and Flood Pump’s Capabilities
For high-quality and reliable storm pumps suitable for many locations, Lemmons Pump Company, LLC offers exceptional solutions tailored to diverse applications. Our clients benefit from several key design features based on their specific needs, including:
- Fixed or Portable for Various Areas Our pumps can protect municipalities, communities, and residential areas through fixed designs or portable trailer-mounted systems.
- Wetland and Waterfowl Management Many wetlands are susceptible to flooding during heavy rainfall, which can jeopardize local and protected wildlife. To mitigate this risk, we supply systems designed to manage flooding and support habitat preservation.
- Environmental Contamination Prevention Dairies, feedlots, and agricultural yards have stringent manure containment requirements that can be compromised during storm events. Our manure slurry and sludge pumps agitate these pits for pumping into fields or trucks for waste management, thus preventing environmental contamination.
- Plant Operations Industrial facilities, chemical plants, and petroleum refineries rely on low sump drainage to ensure a safe working environment. Rising floodwater can damage infrastructure and disrupt operations. We offer vertical pumps for low sump areas dry and maintain safe operations.
- Control of Waterflow for Infrastructure The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers frequently deploys pumps to remove water during floods affecting rivers, levees, and waterways throughout the U.S.
For applications requiring dependable storm and flood pumps, Lemmons Pump Company, LLC provides some of the most reliable options available. Our pumps are constructed from steel and are known for their performance during flooding events. We cater to a wide range of applications, including emergency pumping stations, flood control systems, Fish and Wildlife Refuge Management, permanent pumping stations, and much more.
